About Us

The HSA's blog — Past & Present: A History Blog — is an online database of articles, essays, and book reviews that discuss or reference historical topics and issues. Our goal is to provide history students, as well as academics, with a resource with which to engage in discussions and debates on topics where the past and the present collide. All readers are invited to submit articles to the blog for administrative review and, if approved, inclusion. In doing so, a collaborative community of interested readers is brought together and, we believe, a larger discussion concerning the eternal relevance of the past in our lives today is begun.


The History Students Association is a course union which aims to bring together students and professors with a common interest in history by hosting a number of social and intellectual events throughout the year. The HSA encourages students to get involved in running for office, volunteering for our academic conference, volunteering to help organize our trips and movie nights, etc. Feel free to contact any of the following officers with any questions and/or comments:
